More Than a Caregiver — A Passionate Educator
Founder & Lead Educator
I’m Jennifer Hernandez, and I bring over 15 years of experience in education to Hernandez Family Child Care. I hold a Master’s Degree in Education, a Bachelor’s in Social Work, and an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. I’m also credentialed with a Multiple-Subject Teaching Credential and a Site Supervisor Child Development Permit.
My journey in education has been driven by a deep belief that every child deserves a nurturing, engaging, and safe space to grow. After years of teaching preschool, kindergarten, and transitional kindergarten in the public school system, I created this home-based program to offer families a more personal, play-based learning experience rooted in both heart and purpose.
I’m proud to welcome families into a setting where children are not only cared for, but truly seen, supported, and celebrated.
Meet My Children
My two children, Jacob (17) and Alexa (15), assist in our daily care routine, while my youngest, Alayna (6), brings extra joy as a loving friend and playmate to all. Together, they help create a true family environment where every child feels welcome, supported, and at home.

Alexa Hernandez
Alexa is Jennifer’s 15-year-old daughter and a vital part of Hernandez Family Child Care. With a natural love for children and a gentle, caring spirit, Alexa has spent time volunteering in her mother’s classroom and now supports daily operations at the child care.
She enjoys helping with hands-on activities, building connections with the children, and preparing meals that feel just like home. Alexa’s presence brings warmth, fun, and an extra set of loving hands to our program and she’s proud to be part of every child’s early learning journey.

Physical Activity Leader & Mentor
Jacob Hernandez
Jacob is Jennifer’s 17-year-old son and an enthusiastic part of the Hernandez Family Child Care team. With a strong interest in sports and a growing passion for coaching, Jacob leads fun, active play that keeps kids moving and engaged throughout the day.
Whether it’s outdoor games, obstacle courses, or simple backyard fun, Jacob brings energy, patience, and a positive attitude to every activity. He also loves connecting with the children through play, making sure they feel included, confident, and excited to participate.

Official Friend & Playmate
Alayna Hernandez
Alayna Hernandez is Jennifer’s 6-year-old daughter and a joyful part of the Hernandez Family Child Care experience. As a full-time friend and playmate, Alayna brings warmth, kindness, and a gentle spirit to the children in our care.
She’s sweet, empathetic, and always eager to include others in her games, crafts, and pretend play. Whether she’s building with blocks, coloring, or exploring outside, Alayna naturally helps other children feel welcomed, supported, and ready to play.
At Hernandez Family Child Care, Alayna isn’t just part of the family, she helps make it feel like one.
